Ether traded near <strong>$2,415 on October 14<\/strong>, slipping toward the $2,400 area after briefly approaching $2,530 earlier in the session. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The latest volatility follows a sharp selloff in South Korean equities. The benchmark KOSPI plunged about <strong>5.5% on October 13<\/strong>, with Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix among the biggest casualties as investors reassessed enormous spending on artificial intelligence and the growing competitive threat from Chinese memory-chip producers. The index fell more than 6% intraday before recovering some of its losses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tom Lee, chairman of Ethereum treasury company BitMine Immersion Technologies and co-founder of Fundstrat, warned that the Korean rout could create additional pressure on crypto. Lee said brokerage margin liquidations could force Korean investors to raise cash by selling liquid holdings, including digital assets, describing the potential impact on Ether as <strong>\u201cshort-term pain.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That mechanism is plausible, but it has not been established as the principal reason Ethereum is falling. One analysis noted that Korean retail investors were net buyers of equities during parts of the selloff and that ETH had already been weakening before the sharp KOSPI decline. The safer conclusion is that Korea added another source of risk to a market already dealing with leverage reductions, macro uncertainty and weak recent institutional flows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crypto derivatives data show meaningful deleveraging. CoinDesk reported approximately <strong>$813 million in liquidations across crypto markets over 24 hours<\/strong>, while open interest declined, suggesting traders were being forced out of leveraged positions rather than aggressively adding new ones. Ether itself fell as low as roughly $2,400 during the volatility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ETF demand has also been uneven, although the most recent data offer some relief. U.S. spot Ether ETFs lost <strong>$542.1 million during the previous week<\/strong>, their worst weekly performance since January. On October 12, another $85.4 million left the funds. But on October 13, the group reversed course with <strong>$24.84 million in net inflows<\/strong>, ending a 10-session streak of withdrawals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">South Korea\u2019s market also began stabilizing Wednesday. The KOSPI rebounded more than 1% in morning trading, with Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix recovering some ground. That does not erase Tuesday\u2019s selloff, but it weakens the argument that an uninterrupted Korean liquidation spiral is currently underway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Ethereum, <strong>$2,400 is now the immediate technical battleground<\/strong> because price has repeatedly approached that region during recent sessions. A sustained break below it could deepen downside momentum, but targets such as $2,350 or $2,600 should be treated as technical scenarios rather than reliable forecasts. Crypto prices can move rapidly, and short-term chart levels do not guarantee future outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The more useful signals now are whether ETH can remain above its recent lows, whether ETF inflows continue after Tuesday\u2019s reversal, whether leverage keeps falling and whether South Korean technology shares stabilize.
