LOS ANGELES, California — October 23, 2026. Kim Kardashian was reportedly upset after longtime friend Paris Hilton canceled a planned interview for Kardashian’s authorized biography 17 times over approximately four months, according to author Jonathan Van Meter.

Van Meter discussed the situation in an interview published by The Hollywood Reporter on Friday, offering a behind-the-scenes account of his efforts to interview people connected to Kardashian’s personal life and rise to fame for his book, Citizen Kim.

PARIS HILTON REPORTEDLY CANCELED 17 INTERVIEWS

According to Van Meter, securing an interview with Hilton became one of the more complicated parts of researching Kardashian’s biography.

The author said Hilton canceled scheduled conversations 17 times during a period of roughly four months.

Unlike other celebrities whom Kardashian could reportedly contact directly through personal messages, Van Meter said communication with Hilton had to go through her professional representatives.

The repeated cancellations delayed his attempt to obtain Hilton’s perspective on Kardashian’s early years in the entertainment industry.

KIM KARDASHIAN REPORTEDLY BECAME VERY UPSET

Van Meter said Kardashian reacted strongly when he informed her about the repeated cancellations.

According to his account, she became extremely angry, and the situation appeared to revive unresolved frustrations connected to their history.

The author characterized the tension as an old irritation between the two women rather than a newly established public dispute.

His account reflects his observations during the biography’s preparation. Kardashian has not been quoted in the information provided as issuing a separate public statement about Hilton’s cancellations.

A FRIENDSHIP THAT HELPED SHAPE CELEBRITY CULTURE

Kardashian and Hilton have known each other for decades and were frequently seen together during the early 2000s.

Before Kardashian became an internationally recognized television personality and businesswoman, she worked with Hilton and appeared alongside her at public events.

Hilton had already established herself as a major figure in celebrity culture through reality television, fashion and her highly publicized social life.

Kardashian later developed her own media career, becoming one of the world’s most recognizable reality television stars and entrepreneurs.

Their shared history remains an important part of how both women are discussed in accounts of early-2000s celebrity culture.

AUTHOR DESCRIBES OLD TENSIONS BETWEEN THE STARS

During the interview, Van Meter suggested that Hilton’s repeated cancellations touched on a longstanding dynamic involving their different positions in the entertainment industry.

He described the situation through the idea of a creator being rejected by her creation, referring to the perception that Hilton helped introduce Kardashian to the celebrity world.

The comparison reflects the author’s interpretation of their relationship, not a confirmed statement of either woman’s current feelings.

Although their friendship has experienced periods of distance over the years, Kardashian and Hilton have also publicly reconnected and supported each other’s projects.

“CITIZEN KIM” EXPLORES KARDASHIAN’S RISE TO FAME

Van Meter’s authorized biography, Citizen Kim, examines Kardashian’s transformation from a figure associated with Hollywood social circles into a global entertainment and business personality.

Interviews with people from different stages of her life are intended to provide context about her relationships, professional decisions and public image.

Hilton’s perspective would have been particularly relevant because of her close association with Kardashian before the launch of Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2007.

The reported scheduling difficulties offer a glimpse into the challenges of documenting relationships involving internationally recognized celebrities.

NO CONFIRMED PUBLIC FEUD BETWEEN KARDASHIAN AND HILTON

Despite the author’s account, the reported frustration does not establish that Kardashian and Hilton are currently involved in an active public feud.

The information provided does not include a new statement from Hilton explaining the cancellations or a direct response from Kardashian addressing their present relationship.

The reasons for the repeated scheduling changes have not been independently established.

For now, the story remains a behind-the-scenes revelation from Kardashian’s biographer rather than confirmation of a permanent breakdown in the celebrities’ friendship.
