TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA \u2014 November 3, 2026.<\/strong> Republican Congressman Byron Donalds has been projected to win Florida’s gubernatorial election over Democratic challenger David Jolly, according to NBC News and ABC News decision desks. The projections, reported Tuesday night, indicate that Republicans are set to retain control of Florida’s governor’s office following eight years under outgoing Governor Ron DeSantis. ABC News displayed its projection at approximately 9:14 p.m. Eastern Time, marking a significant development in one of the country’s closely watched gubernatorial contests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donalds, who represents Florida’s 19th Congressional District, entered the general election as the Republican nominee after winning his party’s August primary. Jolly, a former Republican congressman who later joined the Democratic Party, secured the Democratic nomination and campaigned on a different direction for the state.
