Aunque se registr\u00f3 una ligera baja en adolescentes (17.8%), el consumo generalizado persiste como un desaf\u00edo cr\u00edtico para la salud p\u00fablica.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De acuerdo a la encuesta, el consumo de alcohol provoca 112 muertes diarias en M\u00e9xico, equivalentes a 41 mil decesos anuales.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adem\u00e1s de asociarse de manera directa con m\u00e1s de 60 enfermedades (cirrosis, c\u00e1ncer, pancreatitis, da\u00f1o neurol\u00f3gico), agrava otras 200 condiciones como accidentes viales, violencia, suicidios y VIH.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tambi\u00e9n se\u00f1alan que los costos m\u00e9dicos derivados representan 2.1% del PIB, con seis de las diez principales causas de muerte vinculadas al alcohol.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">M\u00e9xico carece de una Pol\u00edtica Nacional sobre Consumo de Alcohol, lo que permite ventas sin restricciones de lugar, horario o publicidad. Esta falta de regulaci\u00f3n incrementa la vulnerabilidad de la poblaci\u00f3n y genera hospitalizaciones evitables que saturan el sistema de salud.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Organismos internacionales como la OMS y el Banco Mundial recomiendan el aumento de impuestos como la medida m\u00e1s costo-efectiva para reducir el consumo.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ya que, de acuerdo a sus informes, los incrementos fiscales pueden disminuir hasta 34.6% el consumo y generar ingresos adicionales para salud.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Una propuesta de modificaci\u00f3n al IEPS, con cuotas espec\u00edficas por mililitro de alcohol puro, hubiera reducido el consumo en 37%, recaudado m\u00e1s de 30 mil millones de pesos y evitado 162,613 muertes por cirrosis en 10 a\u00f1os.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La Red de Acci\u00f3n sobre Alcohol (RASA) urgi\u00f3 al Gobierno Federal a implementar pol\u00edticas efectivas como la de regular horarios y lugares de venta. Adem\u00e1s de prohibir publicidad y promoci\u00f3n de bebidas alcoh\u00f3licas.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tambi\u00e9n piden incrementar impuestos para financiar salud, educaci\u00f3n y justicia social.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Estas medidas, adem\u00e1s de contribuir a la salud p\u00fablica de la poblaci\u00f3n, permitir\u00e1n obtener recursos para financiar acciones de salud, educaci\u00f3n y justicia social que beneficien a todos los mexicanos, y no solo a un grupo de corporaciones internacionales que lucran con la salud p\u00fablica de los mexicanos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>-Autoridades advierten y proponen aumentar los impuestos como medida costo-efectiva.
